Tunes in the Church is a traditional Irish music concert series that presented established and upcoming musicians, singers and dancer every summer at St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church, Galway. It was established to benefit the traditional Irish music community and to promote Irish traditional music to new audiences. To date, over 240 different artists have performed at the series. This novel concert experience engages new audiences with traditional musicians by encouraging them to ask questions of the performers throughout the concerts. By allowing for open communication during the concerts, the barrier between the concept of ‘audience’ and ‘performer’ is challenged, therefore making each concert unique, fresh, and singularly authentic. Further, in the unparalleled environment and acoustics of St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, Galway, and the Unitarian Church, Dublin, audience members are invited on a historic tour of the church during the intermission of each concert.

This social enterprise won an award at the Student Union Entrepreneur Awards 2012.
